Pokljuška Gorge is a lesser-known but exceptionally picturesque natural attraction near Bled and Gorje. It is about 2 kilometers long and up to 50 meters deep, carved into limestone by water since the end of the last Ice Age.
This natural labyrinth of cliffs, bridges, caves, and passages offers visitors an unforgettable experience surrounded by silence and lush forest. Often called the “little sister of Vintgar Gorge,” it provides a quieter, more peaceful nature experience—without the crowds.
What can you see?
Narrow rocky channels and overhanging walls covered with moss and ferns
The famous natural rock bridge called the Great Natural Bridge
An ice cave where ice remains even late into summer
A marked educational trail through the most interesting parts of the gorge
Possible connections to other hiking trails toward Pokljuka or Bled
Family-friendly outing
The trail is easy and suitable for families with children (though not for strollers), being a circular path about 4 kilometers long. Good footwear is recommended, as some sections can be slippery or narrow.
How to get there?
You can drive by car to Korita near Gorje (just a few kilometers from Bled), where there is a marked parking area. From there, a pleasant hike awaits away from the tourist crowds.
Pokljuška Gorge is an ideal choice for those seeking a peaceful nature escape, enjoying natural wonders and exploring hidden corners of the Slovenian Alps.
